Dear Future Student,
On behalf of Syracuse Teen Challenge we want to thank you for your interest in our program and we
welcome you as you take these next steps to start a new life and find freedom from addiction!
The following requirements must be fulfilled in order for you to enter into our program. Each step
must be completed before an entry date can be given and it is up to YOU to complete the steps. We
will do everything we can to process your paperwork in a timely manner, accept you into our program
and set up an intake date
General Information:
• Syracuse Teen Challenge is a division of Teen Challenge Training Center
.• It is a Christian residential 14-month program for men ages 18+ with life controlling problems such as drugs, alcohol and crime. Approximately four months are spent in the induction center and 10 months in the Training Center
• This is a Faith-based program and is founded on Christian principles and values.
• We also provide a Work Therapy program that you will participate in.
The COST for the program:
A NON-REFUNDALBE $750 intake fee is required by each student.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a male 18+ years.
• Pending legal matters should be resolved or thoroughly discussed with the Intake coordinator before entering our program. However, a student can be court mandated to be here.
• Anyone that has been diagnosed as bipolar and is on psychiatric medications is not eligible for this program. It is recommended that you contact the Cleveland Ohio Teen Challenge program at (440) 259-3333.
• All medical and dental problems need to be addressed before entering the program.
• We can NOT accept any Convicted or Registered Sex Offenders.
Steps for applying:
Step 1: Please print out a copy of our application and fill it out completely and fax it back to me
at 1-315-472-0668 along with a copy of a photo ID and Social Security Card.
Step 2: The Following medical tests will be needed before you can transfer to the Teen Challenge
Center in Pennsylvania. If they have been administered in the last 30 days, please bring in the
physcian issued results.
Step 3: During your phone interview you will be asked questions in regards
to the guidelines that are
written in the “intake” section of our website application. Please ensure you have read them
thoroughly.
Step 4: A phone interview will be conducted by the Intake Director. During this interview a date
for your arrival will be determined.
Step 5: The bus/train station is fairly close to the center. Upon arrival please call Teen
Challenge as it will take approximately 15 minutes for a staff or Teen Challenge volunteer to pick
you up.
What to expect once you arrive:
When you arrive you will be greeted by the staff and the Intake Director will fill out your paperwork. You will be given a tour of the facility and shown where to find your schedule, the Chapel, and shown your room. You will be assigned a Senior Student that will help you for the first couple of days that you are here. A male staff will have to do a required search of your luggage
and belongings. After your items have been searched you will then be taken to your room to unpack.
If you have arrived by bus, train, or airplane you will be given a 2 minute phone call to let your family know that you have arrived safely.
We want you to know that as you make this decision to come to Teen Challenge that there is a wonderful staff and many volunteers that will stand behind you and with you through this time. We have a loving, caring staff, many volunteers and graduates that share their time to counsel and encourage the students in our program. Most of all you will find the love and acceptance of a loving heavenly father who truly loves you for who you are.
